Gerard is a graduate from the University of Leeds. A highlight of his academic career was the submission of his dissertation project. It was titled: Artificial Intelligence in Financial Intermediation: An Investigation into the Prospect of Robo-Advice Developments for Mortgage Brokers in the United Kingdom.

Since graduating from university, despite working in an office role, Gerard has maintained an active lifestyle. You are likely to spot Gerard in a certain Norwich Gym during the late hours of an evening.

Michael Boon has actively worked in the financial services industry since 1965. You will struggle to find an adviser with a greater wealth of experience in this field than Michael. In his past life, Michael was managing partner of a financial brokerage group in Hampshire, boasting over 8000 clients with over 40 employees.

Michael’s reputation for consistently delivering high quality advice has generated a loyal client base. Such a reputation has also resulted in his membership for the Equity Release Council.

Michael offers advice and arrangement for the following services:

• Equity release (lifetime mortgages and home reversion)
• Life insurance
• Income insurance

In his spare time, Michael enjoys a simple and relaxed lifestyle. He is constantly tending to his ever-growing garden. However, Michael’s blood pressure is partial to rise on a Saturday afternoon when Norwich City F.C. are close to kick off.

Lucinda has actively worked in the mortgage broking industry for many years. Her previous role focused on processing buy-to-let mortgages. Lucinda is now proficient in offering mortgage advice for all residential and buy-to-let cases. She is CeMAP qualified and achieved numerous Distinction and Merit grades in her modules. Lucinda is also CeRER qualified and can advise and arrange Equity Release cases.

Lucinda specialises in advising and arranging re-mortgage cases for Boon Brokers. Even though re-mortgages is now her focus, Lucinda can offer financial advice and arrangement in the following areas:

• Critical Illness Cover and
• Equity Release

Lucinda also performs the role of Deputy Manager for the firm and assists the broker team on a daily basis with operations.

Away from the office, Lucinda enjoys going for long walks, exercising at her local gym and seeing her friends/family. An interesting fact about Lucinda is that she is a co-founder of a Norfolk Rum business. As a result, she spends plenty of her spare time selling rum at Norfolk & Suffolk-based farmers’ markets.

Mandy Holmes has joined Boon Brokers in an administrative role. She spent many years working for Jewson Timber Merchants in their Marketing Department. The skills learnt during those years have made Mandy a valuable addition to the team. A core goal of Boon Brokers, at the heart of our long-term business strategy, is to adapt to the changing technological environment in the financial service industry. A key driver of such change is the emergence of new marketing platforms and systems. Mandy’s insights into such changes, due to her widespread marketing background, are invaluable.

Mandy’s day-to-day role focuses on assisting Boon Broker’s with the progression of mortgage and insurance applications. This role entails: providing updates to clients on submitted cases, discussing information/documentation requirements, arranging consultations for our advisers and managing our internal database. Compliance reporting is another important facet of Mandy’s job role.

Outside of the workplace, Mandy has many hobbies. Most notably, she is an avid Formula 1 fan and keen supporter of Lewis Hamilton.

Joshua is a driven and ambitious adviser who has worked in a variety of financial service sectors and lived in multiple countries.

He aims to deliver an optimal service to clients by offering a friendly, professional and bespoke touch to each case. His constant endeavour to find the best solution to clients, regardless of how challenging a case may be, is much admired by his peers.

Joshua is a is a qualified mortgage, insurance, and equity release adviser. He has passed the CeMAP and CeRER qualifications from the London Institute of Banking and Finance.

Although he is able to help any client, he is particularly proficient at assisting first time buyers and lifetime mortgage applicants. Financial advice and arrangement is offered in the following areas:

During his free time, Joshua enjoys flying planes as well as reading and swimming. One of his biggest passions is music. You will often catch Joshua muttering the lyrics of an obscure track to himself, which is most amusing to the other office staff.

Kathryn has worked as a qualified mortgage and protection broker since 2018. She has a wide range of experience in Residential, Buy to Let and Insurance cases. In particular, Kathryn enjoys helping first-time buyers through their mortgage journey and ensuring that they are well protected with their insurance post-offer. Due to her many years of experience as a broker, Kathryn has a strong understanding of lending criteria from a whole-of-market range of lenders.

As a CeMAP qualified adviser, Kathryn can offer financial advice and arrangement in the following areas:

In her personal life, Kathryn enjoys going to festivals and spending time with her partner in Norfolk. Kathryn is also part of a musical band which performs across the country on the weekends.

Jay has worked in the financial service industry as an active mortgage and insurance broker since 2017.  As a result of his experience, his skillset as an adviser is multi-faceted. Jay will happily identify the most suitable lender for prospective borrowers that are hoping to purchase or re-mortgage residential or buy-to-let properties. After the mortgage has been arranged, Jay will also discuss with borrowers which type of insurance cover is likely to be most suitable for their circumstances including life, income and critical illness cover.

Away from the workplace, Jay enjoys walking his frantic cocker spaniel, fishing in Norfolk, supporting Manchester United F.C. and spending quality time with his wife.

Our Quality Assurance Administrator, Mark joined us in the Spring of 2023. He has an extensive background in Customer Relations and Complaints within the Energy, Financial and Health & Social Care sectors, most recently working within a local County Council. Mark is a highly analytical and empathetic person with a passion for helping people.

With Mark’s diverse experience in talking to people from all walks of life, as well as investigating complaints and providing training to his colleagues, Mark is well placed to provide Boon Brokers with reliable and effective Quality Assurance.

In his day-to-day role Mark monitors our brokers’ work to ensure that our clients receive the highest possible quality of service throughout their experience. He provides regular feedback to our brokers and is also responsible for investigating any complaints.

When he is not working, Mark can be found exploring the countryside with his partner and their 2 dogs, completing woodworking and DIY projects, or attempting to make music in his loft.

Adam has been a fully qualified mortgage and protection adviser since 2015. He has vast experience in advising and arranging many different case types such as First Time Buyers, Buy to Let, Remortgages, Home Movers and Portfolio Landlords. Since 2015, Adam has been operating on a whole-of-market basis. As a result, he has extensive knowledge of criteria and processing across over 90 lenders and insurers in the industry.

Adam has Mortgage and Insurance qualifications from the Chartered Insurance Institute.
